The Pearsall Family DNA – Surname
Project
PEARSALL FAMILY DNA SURNAME PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT:
March
14, 2007 – A fellow
Pearsall genealogist/researcher found a THIRD branch of the Pearsall
family. Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation (SMGF.ORG) recently
updated their database and results from a second Pearsall in their
database is now available on their website. This second Pearsall in SMGF’s database
is the third known Pearsall branch; based on records available on the
website, this branch is a more recent addition to the diversity of the
Pearsall line (probable adoption ~1900 A.D.). The ancestry of the natural paternal
line is German “Steinhausen.” Based on available Y-DNA marker values
currently known, the new branch is predicted to be 100.0% Haplogroup I1a
– a Northern European origin.

Using Whit Athey’s haplogroup
predictor, above markers result in a 100.0% probability that
the paternal line belongs to Haplogroup I1a:
Haplogroup I1a is concentrated mainly in northern Europe and Scandinavia:
NEXT STEPS
1.
Establish
a reference for Pearsall in every state and country to verify the
genealogy,
2.
Establish
a reference for other possibly related surnames, and
3.
Establish
a reference for earlier roots (e.g. England,
Normandy, Norway,
Sweden,
and the Balkans).
